The Undergraduate Research & Creative Activity Conference, held March 30, is a premier annual event at The University of Alabama that provides students with the opportunity to highlight their research or creative activity. In addition to bringing attention to the outstanding work being done by UA's undergraduates, the conference allows students to gain experience presenting, become eligible for cash prizes, and form relationships with faculty mentors and fellow conference presenters. Local students attended SACNAS National Convention
Faculty from Chemistry, Biology, and the MARC U*STAR program attended the SACNAS (Society for the Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science) National Convention in Long Beach, Calif. with 30 Fort Lewis College students studying the STEM disciplines. The students' trip to the conference was funded by NIH program SSNAP (Science Scholars: The Native American Path).

USA Cycling is pleased to announce the fall class of Collegiate Academic All-Stars! The Fall 2015 class of riders is composed of 79 riders from 15 different schools; 16 of these riders are from Fort Lewis College. All collegiate cyclists face the challenge of balancing school while racing, and the Academic All-Star program seeks to recognize those that go above and beyond by achieving top grades in the classroom while also competing at USA Cycling Collegiate National Championships.

The speaker chosen to offer the Commencement Address was Adventure Education Assistant Professor Lee Frazer, winner of the Alice Admire Outstanding Teaching Award.

Students serve as resident assistants at Fort Lewis College
Each year, Fort Lewis College chooses a group of highly motivated students to serve as Resident Assistants. Resident Assistants are student staff members who live on a floor in a college residence hall to serve as primary resources for information and assistance. The objectives of Resident Assistants are to exhibit a concern for others and relate in a positive manner to the students. They are responsible for creating a living environment that is conducive to the academic mission of the College, maintaining the safety of the facility, and assisting the student in their college experiences.

Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2014 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.
